College of the Arts faculty members were recognized by Kent State University at the Honors Banquet held on April 24, 2024.

  • Kent State University’s School of Theatre and Dance is closing its 2023-2024 season with "Everybody" running April 19 through 28 in Wright-Curtis Theatre, located in the Center for Performing Arts. 

  • “525,600 minutes - how do you measure, measure a year?” These lyrics will fill the E. Turner Stump Theatre this weekend as the run of “Rent” finishes up on Sun, Feb. 25.  Amy Fritsche, associate professor of acting and musical theater and director of “Rent” for Kent State, walked alongside students performing in the show from start to finish to ensure their first performance of the Spring semester was a hit.  

  • Tony Hardin, Director of the School of Theater and Dance, was recently named a 2024 United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT) Fellow. 

Land Acknowledgement

The traditional people this land belongs to include the Nations of the Delaware, Miami, Mingo, Ottawa, Shawnee, Wyandot and Cayuga. This land acknowledgement pays respect to the traditions, ancestors and to the contemporary cultural and spiritual practices of Native Americans. Please take a moment to consider the legacies of violence, displacement that have removed Native Americans from their land.

    The School of Theatre and Dance offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance, a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Studies, and a Minor in Dance and is the home of the Kent Dance Ensemble, Kent State University's pre-professional dance company.
